PW cooperative. Reliable but limited by ignorance. After about 3 days fighting in hills near YONGCH’ON, PW’s unit retreated before ROK counter attack. No further interrogation recommended.
3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Inducted 21 Aug 50, at home village. All men 18 to 35 rounded up and conscripted from PW’s village. (approx 150 men) marched at night directly to front. No training received. Replacement in ranks on arrival at front. About 3 days before surrender received rifle at front. Insufficient instruction even on operation of rifle. Given 20 rounds. None expended, No rations for 3 days.
Unit Organization:
50th Regt said to be about 2,500; 300 in battalion; 90 in company; 30 in platoon; 9 in squad.
Equipment:
Supplied with M1891/30 rifles. 1 x DP LMG per squad. PPsh M1941 SMG’s carried by officers. PPS M1943 SMG’s also seen. PW observed 2 unidentified tanks with Regt.

Intentions:
To attack YONGCH’ON.
Morale:
Replacements all seized from S. KOREA. Have no desire to support NKPA, only to escape or surrender. Original NKPA troops want to fight and expect to win. Believe T’AEGU, PUSAN already fallen. PW saw no Leaflets. Knew no eftects of broadcasts. PW reports populace of S. KOREA confident of ultimate victory. Not susceptible to Communist Propaganda.
