Cooperative; information appears reliable but PW is vague about dates and locations; possibly because his unit passed through towns and villages at night only.

6. PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:
Inducted 24 May 50 at NAJIN DONG into Arty Regt of the 15th Div. Trained for one (1) month as a cannoneer.
Departed from NAJIN DONG on 24 June 50 with entire Arty Regt, by railroad and arrived at CHORWON on 26 June 50. Arty Regt joined the other units of the 15th Div, arriving from HOERYONG, at CHORWON.
Departed from CHORWON on 26 June 50, by truck and arrived via CHUNCHON, HONGCHON, SANGJU and KUMCHON, at YONGCHON o/a 5 Sep 50.
Departed from YONGCHON o/a 5 Sep 50, by truck, and set up gun positions approx 5 Km south of YONGCHON o/a 5 Sep 50.
Intentions to move by truck to POHANG DONG on 10 Sep 50, were thwarted by aircraft and ROK infantry who captured, killed, or scattered entire 2nd Plt, 6th Co, 2nd Bn, Arty Regt. PW surrendered at 1200 hrs, 10 Sep 50.

7. ARMOR:
Observed SU-76 SP gun on 10 Sep 50 approx 5 Km south of YONGCHON on YONGCHON - KYONGJU road.

8. FOOD & AMMO SUPPLIES:
No rations remained as of 10 Sep 50 in 2nd Bn. Men depended entirely on confiscated food from farmers.
6th Plat, 2nd Bn had only 10 x 122mm rounds ammo left. The other arty platoons were similarly low on ammo.

9. REPLACEMENTS:
2nd Bn received no replacements of men since departing from North KOREA in June 50.

10. ENEMY INTENTIONS:
Objective of 15th Div was to occupy POHANG-DONG and await further instructions as of 10 Sep 50.

11. MORALE:
Morale of the officers and men of Arty Regt, 15th Div was high because they had never lost an artillery piece or vehicle until 10 Sep 50, and they were confident of victory.

12. SOUTH KOREAN SENTIMENTS:
PW believes South Korean civilian welcome NKPA because of their willingness to help the North Koreans in any way possible.

13. MISCELLANEOUS:
Arty ammo does not have any dates marked on it. The only markings are of caliber and type of ammo.
