2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was captured on 10 Sep 50. PW was unobservant; information limited.

3. T/O & E OF PW’S UNIT:
15th Div - approx 10,000 men.
15th Division composed of the 7th, 8th and 9th Inf Regts.
a. Arty Regt:
There was a unit composed of Signal, Supply, Medic and Cook Personnel, totaling 40 to 50 men in the Arty Regt. This unit was directly attached to Regt unit.
Arty Regt had over 800 men.
24 - 76mm M1942 guns.
12 - 120mm M1938 howitzer
36 - ZIS 151 and ZIS 5 trucks
There were three Bns in Arty Regt; more than 260 men each.
3rd Bn: 120mm howitzer
Eight 76mm guns
Three companies in one Bn, over 75 men each. Four 120mm howitzers in one Co. Four 76mm guns in each Co. Two Plts in one Co; either two 120mm or 76mm gun. Approx 25 men each in plt. Two squads in one Plt. 10 or 12 men in each squad. One 76mm gun or 120 mm gun.
Assist gunner carried M1891/30 rifle, 100 rounds, 2 grenades each. Others carried Russian carbines, 100 rounds each, 2 grenades.
PW was the ammo feeder for 76mm gun. Two types of shells were used by this gun: Fragmentation and armor piercing shells.
There were 35 boxes of fragmentation shells. 5 in a box, and 4 boxes of armor piercing shells, 5 in one box, to a gun.
There were 4 boxes of rifle rounds, 1,000 in each. There were also Ron and messenger sqds in each Co, approx 30 men each, In the fragmentation shell KTM-1 FUZE, 1934 or 1943 type were used.

5. FOOD & SUPPLIES:
PW stated that in the early part of Sep he heard that ammo and food supplies came from SOSAN and about 40 km N of ANDONG by trucks which travelled only during the night.

6. REPLACEMENTS:
No replacements in his unit. PW heard that 500 recruits were once placed into the 15th Div.

7. ENEMY INTENTIONS:
Mission of PW’s unit was to tale PUSAN.
PW was told never to surrender.

8. MORALE:
PW claims that the morale in his unit was high because the N Koreans are winning this war.

9. CAPTURED EQUIPMENTS:
PW stated that captured M-1’s were used against the UN Forces.

10. MISCELLANEOUS:
PW stated that Arty pieces were usually placed 30 meters apart and one gun would register in. When it was registered in, the barrage begins, and the infantry immediately attacks.
