2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was not intelligent and had a very poor memory. His information is not reliable because of that. Not recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology: 15 Sep 50 - PW was inducted at P’YONGYANG. Approx 600 recruits were issued uniforms. The 600 recruits departed P’YONGYANG 15 Jul 50, by train.
15 Jul 50 - The 600 men reached a mountain S of 38° parallel. They stayed 3 days and departed by train.
O/a 23 Jul 50 - The 600 men reached SEOUL. About 200 men were separated at SEOUL. Remainder of the men including PW marched to TAEJON.
O/a 3 Aug 50 - The 400 men reached TAEJON via SUWON and CH'ONAN.
O/a 5 Aug 50 - The group reached a position where the 3rd Div was located. PW only knew that the area was N of T’AEGU. When they reached here, there were about 300 men in the group. About 100 men dropped behind on the way from TAEJON to the area N of T’AEGU. The troops were told by the officers that they were attached to the 3rd Div as replacements. About 50 men, including PW, were attached to the 1st Bn, ? Regt, 3rd Div.
O/a 8 Aug 50 - All the replacements received M1891/30 rifles, 100 rounds of ammunition and 4 band grenades per man.
5 Sep 50 - The 3rd Div advanced southward and took a new position on a mountain N of T’AEGU. There was a rumor among the troops that the 8th Regt, 3rd Div was surrounded by UN troops.
9 Sep 50 - Pw and 2 others were captured by US troops while hiding in fox holes.
Unit Organization and Strength: 1st Bn - 4 rifle companies and 1 HMG Co.
Rifle Co - about 240 men.
Morale and Propaganda: Morale of the troops was low due to shortage of food.
No leaflets seen by PW.
