INTERROGATORS REMARK: The informant seems to be very ignorant. He does not have any education and is not able to write his name.

PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:
Inducted 24 Jul 50, with 24 others at KILCHU. On 24 Jul 50, the informant and 2,000 troops moved by train at night to HAMYONG. At HAMHYONG the troops were divided into two (2) units of 1,000 troops each. One unit was sent to PUNCHON, and the informant's unit was sent to SEOUL. (Dates and places passed through unknown).
From SEOUL, the informant's unit marched by night, following the highway, and arrived at YONGCHON on 5 Sep 50. Upon arrival the 1,000 troops were sent to elements of the 15th Division as replacements. The informant was given a rifle 2 days prior to his capture.

ARMOR:
Two (2) T-34/85 Tanks were observed going to KYONGJU from YONGCHON on 7 Sep 50.

ARTILLERY:
Three (3) horse-drawn artillery pieces (mm unknown) were observed on 7 Sep 50 in YONGCHON.

FOOD AND AMMO SUPPLIES:
The food and ammo supply for the 45th Regiment (up to 7 Sep 50), was coming from the supply transfer point 1 Km north of YONGCHON. Tbe Divisional supply company hauled food and ammo to a point 1 Km north of YONGCHON, where its cargo was transferred to the Regimental Supply Company. The Regimental Supply Company made one trip daily, using eight (8) ox carts, 4 horse-drawn wagons, and three (3) 2½ ton trucks.
The type of ammo hauled was chiefly small-arms & mortar ammo. The supply company operated only at night.
On Jul 50 (7th), the whole Supply Company with its equipment was either captured or destroyed by ROK Forces.

REPLACEMENTS:
The 15th Division's replacements are mostly conscripted South Koreans of newly-occupied territory. These are called "volunteers"
On 3 Sep 50, the 45th Regiment received 200 newly-conscripted replacements. No further information.

ENEMY INTENTIONS:
The troops will fight to the very end because they have been ordered to do so.
The 45th Regiment is attempting to take KYONGJU.

MORALE:
Morale is highest when the unit advance. Morale among the troops is very low. They are able to fight only because of the strict discipline maintained by N.C.Os and officers. The causes for low morale are:
(a) Increased rate of desertion.
{b) Lack of food & weapons.
(c) No understanding of the reasons for fighting.
