Then a group of 100 men left the village on 21 Feb 50 by train and arrived in YANGYANG on 5 Feb 50.
This group received about three months training in a demolition course on clearing land mines, and destruction of bridges between Feb - 15 May 1950. Prior to departure on 30 May 50 about 400 men joined the PW’s group which increased to 500 men. They departed the city by train, passed through KOSONG, TONGCHON (東川), and arrived at a small port on the east coast approx 28 km ESE of WONSAN.
They left the port on 25 Jun 50 by seven boats and arrived on an east coast line located approx 28 km N of ULCHIN on the same day.
This group of 500 men was divided into two groups, 250 each. The PW’s group proceeded south along the coastline. The first battle of PW’s unit, date unknown, took place on a mountain, vicinity of YONGHAE.
