1. PERSONAL DETAILS:
PW NAME: KIM Kum Kyo (金金敎) (김금교)

2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was cooperative; however, military information limited due to short period of service with the 7th Division.

3. PERSONAL HISTORY:
PW was inducted into the NK Army, 2nd Regt, lst Div, at PYONGGANG on 13 March 1948. He was with the unit from 13 Mar 48 to Sept 49, and became a M/Sgt.
He was transferred to a National Defense Guard Unit which was located in PYONGPUK (平北) and remained stationed there from Sept 49 to 7 Jul 50.
He was promoted to the rank of Capt in July 50.
He joined the 7th Div in HAEJU (海州) on 9 July 50 and became the Co Commander of 6th Co, 2nd Bn, 3rd Regt 7th Division.
The 3rd Regt of the 7th Division left the city on 30 Jul 50.
PW did not know where the 7th Div Hq was located at the time of the Regt's departure.

4. UNIT ORGANIZATION AND STRENGTH:
PW stated that the 2nd Regt, 1st Div had approx 2,500 men from March 48 - Sept 49. After PW left the unit on Sept 49, the strength of the 2nd Regt was unknown.
7th Division (between July - Aug 50):
6th Company - Approx 150 men
2nd Bn -　〃　　700 men
3rd Regt -　〃　　2,500 men
7th Division -　〃　　7,500 men


5. EQUIPMENT:
One (1) Sqd - 1 LMD (ammo 280 rounds)
Troops armed with M1891/30 rifles (100 rds).
One Plat - 4 LMG (ammo 280 rds each)
One Company - 12 LMG (ammo 280 rds each)
PW stated there were two (2) HMG in his company; however, they left them behind due to long hard marches (location & date unknown).
One Battalion - 1 HMG (ammo unknown)
Other equipment in higher echelons was unknown.

6. UNIT HISTORY:
3rd Regt, 7th Division, departed HAEJU on 30 Jul 50 by train and arrived in SHINCHON (新村) on 2 Aug 50.
2nd Bn, 3rd Regt, left the city by foot and passed through SEOUL, SUWON, CHONAN, TAEJON, KUMCHON, CHlNJU and arrived on a mountain (approx 5 Km East of HAMAN) on 3 Sep 50. Next day, PW was captured alone by US troops.
PW's unit's duty was to set up a defense line along the West bank of the NAKTONG River (exact location unknown).

7. DISPOSITION:
2nd Bn, 3rd Regt was located in a mountain approx 5 Km East of HAMAN on 4 Sep 50.

8. PERSONALITIES:
Maj CHAR Duk Kwun (車德權) (차득권), CO of 2nd Bn, 3rd Regt, 7th Division.
