2. T/OE OF PW UNIT:

3. DISPOSITION OF UNITS:
2nd Bn Hq of the 6th Regt was located on a mountain approx 15 Km East of NAKTONG River.
Disposition of other units: unknown

4. ESTIMATED STRENGTH OF ABOVE UNITS:
2nd Plat originally had 30 men. However, when they crossed the NAKTONG River, it was reduced to 20 men on 3 Sept 50.

5. PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:
Inducted on 6 Jul 50 at HAMHUNG.
Trained as rifleman for 7 days at above place.
A group of 400 men, who received 7 days training, left HAMHUNG by train on 14 Jul 50 and arrived in KYONGSONG on 24 Jul 50.
They left KYONGSONG by train on 25 July 50 and arrived in TAEJON on 5 Aug 50 (traveled during night).
They left next day from TAEJON and marched to KUMCHON on 21 Aug 50.
They were assigned to the 2nd Div in KUMCHON on the same day.
The 2nd Div marched southward, passing thru HYOPCHON and reaching the NAKTONG River (east of HYOPCHON) on 27 Aug 50.
On 29 Aug 50, the 4th Co of the 2nd Bn crossed the River. Four days later, PW and 55 others were captured by US troops on 2 Sept 50.

6. PERSONALITIES:

7. FOOD & AMMO SUPPLY:
Food and ammo supplies for the unit were generally insufficient. The main supply line was always bombed by aircraft.
PW received one issue of 50 rounds of ammo when they arrived at the west side of the NAKTONG River on 27 Aug 50.

8. REPLACEMENTS:
The group of 400 men (including PW) were the last replacements for the 2nd Div at KUMCHON on 21 Aug 50.
PW stated that since 29 Aug 50 an unknown number of wounded have been sent to the rear, crossing to the west of the NAKTONG River. Location to which they were evacuated: unknown.

9. ENEMY INTENTIONS:
Objective of PW's unit: unknown
Troops did not receive any training.

10. MORALE:
The morale of PW's unit was very high, because everyone felt that they were righting for the unification of North and South Korea.

11. US PW's:
When PW’s unit crossed the river on 29 Aug 50, PW observed approx 50 US PW's who were waiting to be transported to the West side of the NAKTONG River. They were guarded by approx 10 NK troops.

12. South Korean Sentiments:
South Korean people welcomed North Korean troops as they passed thru newly-occupied areas. They wanted the NK Army to win.

13. INTERROGATOR'S REMARKS:
PW was very unobservant and vague. Information seems unreliable.
