7th Div was composed of the following:

76mm Gun Co (40 - 50 men, 4 x 76mm guns; ammo unk)
120mm Mortar Co (40 men, 5 or 6 x 120mm mortars, ammo unk, carried by trucks)
LMG Co (PPSH M1941 SMG), (100 men, 100 x LMG, 210 rounds of ammo each)
Recon Plt (40 men, equipped with SMG’s, 210 rounds of ammo)
Signal Co (number of men unk, field telephones & wireless - amount of equipment unknown)
Trans Co (number of men unk, 6 x YAG-4: trucks)
Med Co (50 men)
Engr Plt (40 men, carried mine detectors & rifles)
AA MG Plat (30 men, 6 x 12.7mm DSHK M1938, ammo unk, hauled by trucks)

6th Regt (244 unit) was composed of three (3) Rifle Bns.
PW's Bn consisted of approx 700 men.
1st Bn composed of three (3) rifle companies, 82mm Mortar Co, HMG Co, 45mm Gun Plt, 14.5mm PTRD-M41 Plt, Signal Plt, Trans Plt, Medic Plt.
82mm Mortar Co (60 men, 12 mortars, ammo unk), men armed with rifles & SMG’s.
HMG Co (50 - 60 men, 12 HMG’s, 1500 rounds ammo per gun)45 mm Gun Plt (20 men, 2 x 45mm guns, ammo unk).
Signal Plt (20 - 25 men, field telephones (number unk).
14.5mm PTRD-M41 Plt (25 - 30 men, 9 x 14.5mm PTRD-M41).
Trans Plt (10 men, 6 x wagons drawn by two horses each).
Medic Plt (8 men equipped with rifles).

1st Co composed of the following:
Three (3) Rifle Platoons:
3rd Rifle Plat (10 men as of 18 Aug 50)
Riflemen armed with M1891/30 rifles, 150 rounds ammo; plat Ldrs, PPSH M1941 Tommy Guns, 210 rounds of ammo; Asst Plt Ldrs, DP um with, 300 rounds of ammo. Each man carried 2 grenades. Officers carried pistols in PW's unit; however, PW carried no weapon but only two (2) grenades due to shortage of sub-machine guns.
There were three (3) Rifle Sqds in the Plt. One sqd consisted of 6 - 7 men, riflemen armed with M1891/30 rifle & 105 rounds of ammo. Sqd ldrs carried SMG; Asst sqd ldrs carried DP LMG with 105 rds of ammo.

3. DISPOSITION OF ABOVE UNITS:
2nd Div Hq was located approx 12 km West of CHANGNYONG on the west side of the river on 3 Sept 50.
6th Regt was located at the same place,
1st Bn was located approx 8 km, West of CHANGNYONG near a small lake,
4th Div believed to be located back of the 2nd Div (exact location unknown).
9th Div believed to be located on the right flank of PW’s unit (exact location unknown).
14th Div believed to be located on the left flank of the unit (exact location unknown).

5. PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:
On 8 May 50, PW was inducted in PYONGYANG. Received three months of basic training.
After three months training, a group of 106 man left PYONYANG by train and arrived ANYANG-NI on 9 Aug 50.
From ANYANG NI, this group marched and passed thru CHONGJU and arrived in KUMCHON on 12 Aug 50.
They left KUMCHON and joined the 2nd Div approx 12 km South of KUMCHON on 13 Aug 50.
Then the 2nd Div marched south passing MORYONG and arrived in the vicinity of HYOPCHON on 25 Aug 50.
The 6th Regt of the 2nd Div crossed the NAKTONG River on 1 Sept 50.
PW's unit contacted UN Forces on 2 Sept 50 approx 12 km West of CHANGNYONG. About 50 men from PW's unit surrendered to US troops without firing a single shot near YONGSAN on 3 Sept 50.

7. ARTILLERY:
Observed 4 x 76mm M1927 howitzer of 6th Regt in the vicinity of HYOPCHON on 21 or 22 Aug 50.

8. FOOD & AMMO:
Food supply was insufficient; therefore PW’s transportation platoon went out in the occupied areas and confiscated all available food (mostly rice) from farmers.
Ammo supply was insufficient. Troops in PW's unit on 21 Aug received an issue of 105 rounds of ammo to each man.
PW believes the main supply line of food & ammo has been completely knocked out by UN air attacks.

9. REPLACEMENTS:
PW stated that the group of 106 men including himself were the last replacements received by the 2nd Div up to 13 Aug 50.
Wounded personnel were evacuated to a field hospital (location unk).

10. ENEMY INTENTIONS:
PW was told by his Bn CO that every man must fight to the last. If anyone tried to retreat, he would be shot.
Objective of the 5th Regt, 2nd Div after crossing the NAKTONG river was CHANGNYONG.

11. MORALE:
The morale of PW's unit was low. Most of the men were about 30 yrs old and were worrying about their families back home.

12. SOUTH KOREAN SENTIMENT:
PW's unit was never in contact with South Korean people in NK occupied areas.

13. MEDICAL INFORMATION:
The members of 6th Regt, 2nd Div ware inoculated for cholera after they passed HYOPCHON on 25 Aug 50.

14. INTERROGATOR’S REMARKS:
PW was intelligent. Information seems reliable, although PW has limited military service.
