Cooperative, seems very observant.
Observed the 45th and 49th Regts of the 15th Div in the vicinity of SUSOK PONG on different mountains. Strength of 45th and 49th Regts, unknown. The 45th Regt was the 7th Regt. The 49th Regt was the 8th Regt. Changed to 45th, 49th and 50th Regts before departure front HOERYONG
Military History:Inducted 19 May 50, HAMHUNG (咸興). Trained as rifleman 2 months, HOERYONG (2,500 men).
Departed HOERYONG 21 Jul 50 - by rail - arrived KUMHWA (金化) 25 Jul 50.
Departed KUMHWA 26 Jul 50 - marched - arrived CH'UNCH'ON (春川) 28 Jul 50.
Departed CH'UNCH'ON - 29 Jul 50 - marched - arrived HONGCH'ON (洪川) d/u Aug 50.
Departed HONGCH’ON - d/u Aug 50 - marched - arrived YECH'ON (醴泉) d/u Aug 50.
Departed YECH'ON - d/u Aug 50 - marched - arrived SUSOK PONG 26 Aug 50. At SUSOK Pong, 50th Regt relieved the Independent Regt from SINUIJU, 27 Aug 50. Losses of Ind Regt - 2 battalions wiped out. Only rifles were salvaged by Independent Unit.
50th Regt engaged ROK Forces 28 Aug 50. They were strafed by airplanes and shelled by artillery and mortars. PW believes about 500 men survived out of 2,500 men. PW captured by ROK Forces while hiding in a trench at the foot of SUSOK PONG 29 2000 Aug 50.

Hearsay - Tanks were in the vicinity of SUSOK PONG.

Trucks were used to tow field guns and haul ammunition and food.
Supplies:Average of 2 rice balls daily.
