Evaluation:
Cooperative, but information limited because PW is illiterate and of low intelligence.

Military History:
Inducted 6 Jul 50, NANAM (羅南). Basic training one week. Departed 13 Jul 50 - railroad - arrived SEOUL o/a 28 Jul 50 with approx 250 other replacements (mostly farmers).
Departed SEOUL o/a 28 Jul 50 - marched with about 100 men - arrived by unknown route KASAN (架山) 25 Aug 50. (PW was issued rifle and 10 rounds enroute o/a 19 Aug 50). 26 Aug 50, aircraft dropped Safe Conduct Passes over KASAN. PW picked one up read its contents, hid in the bushes, and surrendered to ROK soldiers when they approached.
PW could give no information on personalities, organization or equipment. He said he observed 4 truck-drawn arty pieces (type unknown) after marching southward from SEOUL about 10 days.

Supplies:
Received one meal per day, consisting of barley, potatoes, and Korean musk melon. No food received from rear after 14 Aug 50.

Enemy Intentions:
Objective of 1st Regt TAEGU. No gas training or equipment received.

Additional Information:
Morale of men in 1st Plt was low. Their conversation was about home, food, and fear that they would be killed. PW stated that officers told their men that they would be killed if caught rending leaflets dropped by aircraft. Officers further told men that ROK and US killed PsW. However learned from Safe Conduct Pass that hie officers were wrong, so decided to surrender.
