Prisoner surrendered to United States troops located on a hill 16 miles W of MASAN.
Supplies:Food was confiscated from occupied areas. Each member of the Volunteer Unit was given a carbine and 40 rounds of ammunition and told not to fire until ordered to do so by squad leader or platoon leader, regardless of the situation. They were also told that one round of ammunition was of a higher value than the lite of a North Korean soldier.
Mission:Prisoner heard from his squad leader that their mission was to attack MASAN, which was the only enemy position left in S KOREA, since TAEGU and PUSAN had already fallen.

The last known location of the 5th Co was 16 miles N of MASAN. PW estimated that 2,000 N Korean troops were in the same sector.
Armor:Three SU-76 type, armored cars were observed at TAEJON.
Anti-South Korean Propaganda:The S Korean Government has moved to JAPAN. Only remnants of American troops are in TAEGU and PUSAN, which are the only cities left to be conquered. If these American troops are repulsed from KOREA, N and 8 KOREA will once again be united.
Weapons Most Afraid of:Aircraft strafing and attacks with bombs that spray fragments when they hit the ground, with a terrific explosion. These bombs were first experienced in the vicinity of MASAN area. Prisoner was also afraid of the M-3.
American PsWPrisoner observed approximately 350 American prisoners sitting in the ANYANG-NI police yard and about 50 white civilians (doubtful as they were stripped to the waist). Prisoner heard they were awaiting transportation to SEOUL.
