Circumstance of Capture: On the morning of the 12th of Aug 50 prisoner lead the remaining men of his company to the south, toward TABEI-DONG. While advancing they were attacked by United States troops and taken prisoner.

Training:
Approx thirty percent of the personnel in the 23rd Regt had received more than one year of military training. The remaining seventy percent included personnel with six months to less than a year of compulsory basic training.

Location of PW’s Own Unit and Other Units:
The 3rd Regt’s last known position was at SANGYOUNG-DONG. The 13th Div’s Headquarters was located on hill 203 on the 11 Aug 50.

Supplies:
Source of Supplies:
(a) Food was taken from occupied areas.
(b) Ammunitions supplies were practically exhausted.

Types of Armor Employed:
Four T-34 (85) Medium tanks were destroyed by rocket fire from F-80's on the morning of the 12 of August in the vicinity of SANGYOUNGDONG, also one tank was captured by United States troops.

Political and Subversive Activities:
Anti-South Korean Propaganda:
(a) The South Korean Government has been corrupted by the imperialistic government of the United States. They are anticipating colonizing KOREA. If they do, they will set up a capitalist government, which will cause the people of KOREA to live like beggars or to be treated like slaves.
(b) The N Korean Army must destroy the S Korean capitalists and help all the people of S KOREA to live as a free democratic people.

Radio Broadcasts:
The N Korean radio programs are concerned mostly with the following propaganda: Korean culture of the present, production of factory goods, agricultural products and quotas produced, standard of living has become better since the year 1945 and also other communist propaganda.

Weapons:
The Maxim 100 was believed to be the best piece of Russian equipment in the 23rd Regt. Russian letters and numerals were observed on the weapons.
