12 Aug 44 - Departed KOREA,
14 Aug 44 - Arrived at HAMAMATSU-SHI, SHIZUOKA-KEN, JAPAN, as candidate for HAMAMATSU Japanese Army 97th Unit special NCO Training School HAMAMATSU. Inducted into Japanese Army at HAMAMATSU.
2 Sep 45 - Discharged from Japanese Air Force, SAITAMA-KEN, JAPAN.
6 Sep 45 - Arrived at SEOUL, KOREA.
20 Jan 46 - Entered SEOUL Police Force, SEOUL. Employed as uniformed detective handling routine criminal cases.
20 Aug 46 - Transferred to INCH’ON Police Force.
20 Mar 47 - Returned to SEOUL. Promoted to Public Relations Officer SEOUL Police Force Headquarters, SEOUL.
20 Jun 50 - Transferred to CH'ONAN Police Force. Assigned as plainclothes detective Procurator’s Office, handling criminal cases.
24 Jun 50 - Illness in family at SEOUL. Informant returned to SEOUL on emergency leave. Outbreak of Korean War. Funeral arrangement for informant’s father.
28 Jun 50 - Informant stranded in SEOUL. N Korean People's Army occupied SEOUL.
28 Jun - 2 Aug - Informant’s identity and past police connection revealed to People’s Committee (organized o/a 30 Jun 50) by local citizen member of SEOUL Worker's Party. After brief interrogation by People’s Committee, Informant turned over to People's Army, Political Dept, SEOUL Headquarters (政治 保衜郬), Informant subjected to 4-hours interrogation by People's Army Capt on past police work and movement until time of apprehension by People's Committee. Informant slapped once during interrogation.
2 - 6 Aug 50 - Confined in cell within Political Affairs Office Bldg, SEOUL.
6 2200K Aug 50 - Informant and 39 others (civilians, members of Youth Organization, SEOUL, former police members, and ROK Military personnel captured in SEOUL) departed for SEOUL SO DAE MUN (서울 西大門) Prison Compound. Escorted by one armed People’s Army Guard.
6 2300K Aug 50 - Informant escaped from group, immediately after entering compound.
7 Aug 50 - Escaped from SEOUL from north outskirts then fled in southerly direction.
7 - 21 Aug 50 - Arrived at NAKTONG River from SEOUL via YANGJI-RI, CHUKSAN-NI, HUGUNG-NI, UMSOUG, KOESAN, HWARYONGJANG, OKSAN-DONG, SONSAN.
21 1100K Aug 50 - Crossed NAKTONG River 4 km S of SONSAN, Arrived near INDONG however heard from local villagers battle in progress SE of INDONG. Informant returned west of NAKTONG River. Continued walk.
24 Aug 50 - Paasod W of SONGJU. Continued over mountain road extending north to south between KUMCH’ON and WAEGWAN.
27 1430K Aug 50 - Crossed NAKTONG River, walked in northeast direction for 2-3 km. Captured by ROK Army Unit in area 1100-1450 (location unknown).

Troop Movements:
28 Jun 50 - 105th Tank Div (40-50 tanks, Informant observed only 2 T-34/76 Medium tanks in SEOUL) passed through SEOUL (hearsay). People's Army invading S. Korea was divided into Eastern, Western, and Central Units. Eastern Unit (composition unknown) entered SEOUL (hearsay). Others unknown.
Tanks similar to T-34/76 Medium tanks and Submachine Guns similar to PPsh 1941 Sub-machine Gun were being manufactured in SEOUL (hearsay from Worker's Party member who turned informant in to People's. Committee, SEOUL),

Weapons and Personnel:
2o Jun 50 - 4-5 story 35 meters square white concrete structure being used as troop billet. Located at point 164750-997750 (AMS L95l). Estimated 1,000 troops believed billeted here. Building characterized by many smoke stacks protruding from roofs. Only large building immediately W of Capital Building.
6 Aug 50 - People's Army, Political Dept, SEOUL Headquarters located in 3 medium sizo structures (6 story concrete, 3 story And 2 story brick) grouped in 50 motors square area at point 998550-1643150. Informant was interrogated at this headquarters by a NKPA Capt. 2 other NKPA Jr Lt's were also observed here.

8 Aug 50 - North Steel Railroad Bridge across HAN River at point 995750-163800 appeared to be in undamaged condition. All spans still standing.

Food Supply:
Acute shortage of rice, wheat and staples in SEOUL due to restricted transportation facilities as result of US aircraft action. No rationing system in SEOUL. Most food purchased on blackmarket or obtained from friends and relatives in country.

Morale:
Morale very low among population in SEOUL. General discontent over inadequate food supply and NKPA requestion of flee from formers around SEOUL, and conscription of SEOUL population for military and labor units by NKPA. Informant observed People’s is Committee minor officials and other public officials received rice through special sources (unknown to informant). Informant believes majority of SEOUL population disappointed and disgusted over failure of NKPA Reforms and Administration.

Major General DEAN:
3 Aug 50 - Following information heard in conversation between 2 NKPA military officers (a Jr Lt, other unknown) during interrogation of informant at People's Army, Political Dept, SEOUL Headquarters:
1. Major General DEAN, US Army, was killed in action.
2. Major General CH’AE, RONG DOK (齋奉德) (재봉덕), chief of Staff, ROK Army, was killed in action.
3. US Army 24th Div is almost completely wiped out so it no longer constitues a threat.
