Evaluation:
PW was cooperative and information seemed reliable.

Military History:
Inducted 8 Mar 50 at SINUIJU. Trained as rifleman at SARIWON for a period of 3 months. 6th Div departed SARIWON 10 Jun 50 by rail and arrived an unknown place 10 Aug 50. The unit crossed the 38° parallel o/a 25 Jun. From an unknown point, the unit arrived KAESONG via road on the same date. 13th Regt departed KAESONG 25 Jun SO marched via CHONJU, SUNCHON, CHINJU and arrived an unknown place (date unknown). Then PW was captured by US troops at KAEPANG on 25 0700 Aug 50.

T/O & E of PW’s Units
6th Div composed of three (3) rifle regts approx 2,000 men in each regt. 13 Regt composed of three (3) rifle bn’s approx 400 men in each battalion. 3rd Bn composed of three (3) rifle Cos, one mortar Co and one HMG Co approx 100-120 men in each company. 8th Co composed of three (3) rifle plt and one HMG plt approx 30-40 men in each plt. 2nd Plt composed of four (4) rifes sqds - each approx 7 - 10 men. Men were armed with rifles, two grenades and 100 rounds. 2 x HMGs (1,000 rounds each HMG) and l x LMG were assigned to each plt. 9 x 82 mm mortars in each battalion.

Disposition of above Unit:
8th Co of 3rd Bn was located in vicinity of KAEPANG 25 Aug 50. Other unit disposition unknown.

PW stated that all officers and NCOs in his unit served with CCF in MANCHURIA.

Armor:
Observed about ten (10) tanks (similar to JS-2 and T-34) at KAESONG 25 Jun. These tanks were attached to the 6th Div 1 but PR did not see them since 25 Jun.

Artillery:
Observed about 4 to 5 l20mm Howitzers and 2 x 76 mm Howitzers towed by trucks at KAESONG 25 Jun 50. PW has not seen them since 25 Jun.

Food & Ammunition Supplies:
PW stated that food was insufficient after they passed the 38° parallel. Since then, food was obtained from farmers in occupied areas.

Replacements:
The unit did not receive my replacements. The wounded were evacuated. After recuperating the wounded returned to their respective units. Estimated about 50 wounded in his unit.

Captured Equipment:
No captured equipment.

US PsW:
About 20 US PsW who were heading toward town were observed at KURYE about a month ago.

South Korean Sentiments:
S Korean people did not welcome N Korean troops because they seemed afraid of them.

Enemy Intentions:
13th Regt CO told his men to fight to the last man and never to surrender because S Koreans kill all prisoners.
