Cooperative, information limited because PW’s knowledge was confined to wire laying and because PW had no interest in his work.
Military History:
Inducted 30 Mar 50 - NAJIN-DONG (羅津洞). Trained as rifleman (fired 2 rounds) and as wireman, NAJIN-DONG, 1½ months with the 45th Regt (15th Div Hqs were at HOERYONG).
Departed NAJIN- DONG - 22 Jun 50 - by rail - arrived - WONSAN (元山) - 27 Jun 50 with 45th Regt.
Departed WONSAN - 27 Jun 50 - by rail - arrived KUMHWA (金華) o/a 30 Jun 50.
Departed KUMHWA - o/a 30 Jun 50 - marched - arrived CH’UNCH’ON (春川) o/a 4 Jul 50.

Departed UMSONG - o/a 18 Jul 50 - marched - arrived KOESAN (槐山) (1550-1070) o/a 22 Jul 50.
Departed KOESAN - o/a 22 Jul 50 - marched - arrived UISONG (義山) o/a 8 Aug 50.
Departed UISONG - o/a S Aug 50 - marched - arrived - o/a 24 Aug 50. PW suffered from malaria attack, 24 Aug 50. Layed down under a tree while his entire unit moved eastward without him.
1200 hrs, 25 Aug 50, ROK soldiers appeared on hill where PW lay. PW raised his hands and surrendered.

Weapons and Personnel:
Signal plat - 15 men, 4 US Signal Corps EE-SA phones which signal plt placed in 3rd Bns' 3 rifle companies and in the Mortar Co. Wire was a strung from each company to Bn Hqs, but not between companies. PW did not know whether there was switchboard at Regt Hqs but said that there was none at Bn Hqs. Signal platoon had 3 x 500 meter reels of wire.
All Signal platoon men armed with M1899/30 rifles, 50 rounds.
Losses: unknown. No replacement men or equipment known.

Armor:
Observed 5 medium tanks at WONJU o/a 9 Jul 50.

Artillery:
Observed 8 truck drawn medium artillery pieces at WONJU o/a 9 Jul 50.

Supplies:
Knows of none delivered after departing NAJlN-DONG 22 Jun 50, Received average 1 rice ball a day.

Enemy Intentions:
Objective unknown but stated 15th Div was proceeding southeast.
No gas training or equipment received.

Additional information:
Observed no guerrillas.
PW does not know unit designations of Regts in 15th Div other than 45th Regt, but stated that while the 45th Regt is called 7th Detachment, two other regts are called 8th and 9th Detachments respectively.
Morale of all in PW’s platoon (Signal Plt) was low because they were hungry.
