Departed SEOUL 15 Jul 50 PW and approx 500 men. (conscripts who were inducted 8 Jul 50) - marched - arrived YOJU (驪州) 23 Jul.
Departed YOJU 26 Jul 50 - marched - arrived CH’UNGJU (忠州) 3 Aug.
Departed CH’UNGJU 5 Aug 50 - marched - arrived MUN’GYONG (聞慶) 8 Aug.
At MUN’GYONG (8 Aug 50) the 500 men were divided into various groups and sent to various units (unknown). PW was in a group of 100 men, departed MUN’GYONG 10 Aug 50 - marched - arrived HAMCH’ANG (咸昌) 11 Aug 50. Departed. HAMCH’ANG 12 Aug 50 - marched - arrived KUNWI (軍威) 14 Aug 50.
At KUNWI (14 Aug 50) PW’s group (100 men) was assigned to the 14th Regt, 1st Div (500 men). After PW was a member of the 14th Regt, 1st Div he was told by the Co CO that this unit was redesignated 1st Regt, 1st Div (15 Aug 50). Reason was unknown. After unit was organized, PW trained for seven days (14 Aug 50-21 Aug 50), at KUNWI.
22 Aug 50 PW's unit (1st Rest) departed KUNWI; while marching approx 8 km distance S of KUNWI Village, they were bombed and strafed by US aircraft. Die to the bombing and strafing the unit was dispersed. PW and 9 other men from his unit (1st Co) took shelter on a mountain nearby. After hiding in the mountain for three days PW was captured by ROK troops who occupied the mountain (25 Aug 50).

PW received average of two meals per day (15 Jul 50 - 22 Aug 50). Food supplies were brought by trucks almost daily from an unknown point, until 14 Aug 50. Ammunition was last received at KUNWI 20 Aug 50 (130 rounds per man).

Enemy Intentions:
1st Div objective was TAEGU via unknown point. According to PW the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Bns and also three other Bns withdrew to KUNWI Village 22 Aug 50, Other details lacking.
