Evaluation:
Informant was fairly intelligent. He was cooperative but unfamiliar with military terms due to his short military service.

Military History:
2 Mar 50 - Conscripted in No 2 Peoples Training Center, SINUIJU. 2 months training consisting of basic rifle marksmanship (3 rounds fired) and bridging and road repair using hand implements.
o/a 25 Jun No 2 Peoples Training Center trainess (17,000) activated into 13th Div. PW’s unit (400) assigned to Div Eng Bn.
27 Jul 50 - 13th Div arrived in assembly are via rail just north of 38° parallel. Departed for SEOUL. 13th Div entered SEOUL via UIJONGBU (議政府). 1st Div passed through SEOUL (Hearsay) followed by 105th Tank Regt (Hearsay).
14 Aug 50 - 13th Div arrived in SANGJU (尙州) via SUWON (水原) CH’UNGJU (忠州).
15 Aug 50 - 13th Div arrived in NAKTONG-NI (洛東里) (1120-1490) Area over SANGJU-NAKTONG-NI highway.
15 0300 Aug 13th Div (3 x Inf Regts and Eng Bn) crossed NAKTONG River at NAKTONG-NI. Eng Bn (400 men, 2 trucks) ferried across on rafts (See river crossing rafts). Artillery and tanks also ferried across (See disposition of forces). No opposition encountered during river crossing. Some 13th Div units (infantry?) crossed river south of NAKTONG-NI (Hearsay). Div Eng Bn given priority over infantry in crossing river. Object to prepare roads and damaged bridges for vehicular traffic.
16 Aug 50 - Eng Bn followed behind 13th Div Inf Units (Designation unknown) over NAKTONG-NI-TAEGU highway. Entered NAKSONG-DONG.
16-24 Aug - 13th Div advanced over NAKTONG-NI-TAEGU highway to point 4 km North-Northeast of TABU-DONG.
25 1000 Aug PW and 10 others from same unit captured by ROK Army unit near small wooden bridge on NAKTONG-NI-TAEGU highway 3 km North-Northeast of TABU-DONG.

Disposition of Forces:
Note: Reference point will be NAKTONG-NI-ANDONG-TAEGU road junction 4 km North-Northeast of TABU-DONG. Time of last observation - 24 2100 Aug 50.
2 x light tanks (Model unknown) in operating condition hidden in apple orchard 1 km Northwest of road junction on east side of NKATONG-NI highway.
5 or 6 x 45mm M1942 AT guns grouped together (less than 5 meters between guns) hidden in grove in river bed (dried-up river bed running north-south along west side of TAEGU highway and bisecting NAKTONG-NI highway) 100 m northwest of road junction. No trucks or horses observed. PW thinks impossible to fire guns in present position. 13th Div inf unit believed to be deployed along crest of mountains immediately southeast and southeast of road junction.
8 x light tanks (damaged) observed in area 700 meters south of road junction, near concrete bridge.

River Crossing Pontoon rafts:
At NAKTONG-NI, 15 Aug, a river crossing Co (Strength unknown) constructed 3 ferry rafts with pontoons brought from Corps Hqrs (location unknown). This Co was part of Corps Eng Regt. 3 to 5 pontoons used in each raft. Pontoons measured 5 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 meters. Constructed of plywood. Healed to site in knocked-down form on trucks. Assembled at NAKTONG River site. Each raft held 1 fully loaded truck, and artillery piece and 20-30 troops. Of three (3) rafts one was destroyed by aircraft.

Casualties:
Of 400, 300 still remaining in 13th Div Eng Bn.
