PW was cooperative, however information was limited due to his short period of military service.

Inducted 6 Jul 50 at SINUIJU. Received approx 1 month of basic infantry training at SINUIJU.
Departed SINUIJU 3 Aug 50 - by rail - arrive SEOUL - 13 Aug 50.
Departed SEOUL 13 Aug 50 - by rail - arrived WONJU - ? Aug 50.
Departed WONJU - marched IMAM-NI (立岩里) via TANYANG and ANDONG arriving 22 Aug 50.
PW was captured with 7 others while attacking ROK position on a hill outside of IMAM-Ni, 23 Aug 50.

Weapons and Personnel:
3rd Bn - originally 668 men; now 300 - 400 men.
Mortar Co - originally 61 men; now 20 men.
3 Platoons in company; 3 squads in a platoon. Squad 5 - 6 men. All men in Mortar Co carried a Russian Carbine, 16 rounds each, 2 grenades each. Officer told PW’s that this company would got 9 x 82-mm Mortar at IMAM-Ni; furthermore that since the railroad was out, mortars would be brought in by trucks. There were no mortars in unit at the time of capture.
3 rifle companies. Rifle company approx 80 men. 4 squads in a rifle platoon. Rifle squad - 8 - 10 men. Squad leader armed with M1941 PPsh sub-machine gun, 1 72 round drum magazine, 2 grenades. Others carried M1891/30 rifles, 70 rounds, 1 grenade.
3 x DP LMGs in a rifle company. Squad leaders who did not carry the sub-machine guns, carried the DP LMG.
Co CO, no weapon. Only Bn and Regt CO carried TT1933 Tokarev pistols.
MG Co - 65 men; 3 platoons in company. 3 squads per platoon. Squad 5 or 6 men. 3 x Maxim HMG in company. 1 MG per platoon. Two squads handles 1 Mg. 200 rounds per MG. Squad leader, PPsh sub-machine gun, 1 x 72-round magazine, 2 grenades. All others M1860/30 rifles, 60 rounds each, 1 or 2 grenade. PW did not know what were the duties of the 3rd Squad in the MG platoon.
Anti-Tank Platoon - 13 men. 3 squads in one platoon. Squad, 5 men. All men carried M1891/30 rifles, 15 or 16 rounds, 1 or 2 grenades. There were no AT weapons. When and where they would receive them, unknown.
45-mm Gun Co - Number of men unknown. 3 platoons in company. 3 squads per platoon. Squads, 5 or 6 men. All men carried 1891/30 rifle, 15 or 16 rounds, 1 or 2 grenades. There was no 45-mm Guns in this company.
120-mm Co - PW believed T/O was same as 45-mm Co. Men carried M1891/30 rifles. No 120-mm Guns in Co.
76-mm Gun Co - T/O believed to be same as above. No guns in this company.
Signal Platoon - 15 men. 3 squads per platoon. Squad, 5 men. All men carried M1891/30 rifle, 15 or 16 rounds, 1 or 2 grenades. One field telephone in platoon.
Medical Platoon - 15 or 16 men. 3 squads per platoon. Squad 5 men. All men carried M1891/30 rifle, 15 or 16 rounds, 2 grenades.
Supply Platoon - 3 squads per platoon. Squad, 5 men. All men carried M1891/30 rifle, 15 or 16 rounds. Duties of this platoon was to distribute food. Source unknown.

Supplies:
Received ammunition at SINUIJU. After WONJU PW’s received one meal a day, at times twice. Food was gathered from farm village.

Enemy Intentions:
Mission unknown. The Co Political Officer stated at SINUIJU that they were not going to battle but to occupation duties.
