Circumstance of Capture:
At 0700 hours, 11 August 1950, PW’s unit was 2 kilometers south of NAKSONGDONG, when six fighter planes, type unknown, started strafing the tanks. PW’s tanks was the last to move forward, when hit by a bomb. PW was wounded in the right shoulder. When bandaging his wound, he was caught by South Korean troops.

Training:
PW received 5 months of training consisting of gun firing, driving, and communication system. After 4th month of training, PW was familiar with all the tank operations.

Capability of Unit:
Efficiency: Enough training was received but due to the organization of the unit the efficiency was rather low. Morale was low because the men did not know the objective of war. Enough rest and food was received.

Source of Supply:
80% of the diesel oil came from North KOREA, 20% from VLADIVOSTOK. Oil from VLADIVOSTOK was transported by railroad. Most all of the food came from North KOREA. Food from USSR was too weet to eat.
Regimental supply area was located in CHORWON; however, diesel oil was supplied from SEOUL.

Mission:
Objective of his unit was to capture TAEGU.

Weapons:
Each tank was equipped with 1 85MM with 80 rounds and 2 76MM machine gun with approximately 2,800 rounds of ammunition.
