The 2nd Battalion was also known as Iche-Te (二天隊), 6th Comapny as YuKu Te (六九隊)

Circumstance of Capture:
At 1000 hours 14 August 1950, PW’s 6th Company was engaged in battle with the South Korean forces, at which point the 11th Squad was about 15 meters ahead of the 6th Company. Around 1030 hours the 1100 hours was captured by the South Korean army.

Training:
At NANAM, North KOREA, PW received 10 days of basic training, consisting of rifle drill and bayonet training. Rifle used during basic training was made of wood. On 14 July 150, PW received a Japanese model 99 rifle, on the following day fired only 1 round for practice. After firing the rifle, was returned to the Company Commander.

Before arriving at YECHON, 2nd Battalion was called the 5th Battalion. Original Commander were replaced by other officers. Original Commander was sent back to SEOUL.
Japanese model 99 rifles were replaced by 1891/30 rifles at YECHON.

Airfield and Aircrafts:
None observed. PW heard from Squad leader that all North Korean aircrafts were in BUSAN and along the South Korean coast.
