Evaluation:
PW was cooperative but had been sick most of the time. Information was limited due to his short period of service.
Note: PW stated he heard that the 7th Div was redesignated the 12th Div 20 Jul 50 but everyone in the unit still called it the 7th DIv.

Military History:
Inducted 5 Jun 50 at MUNCH’ON, but received no training.
Tactical Movements: 2nd Regt (2,500 men) departed MUNCH’ON by rail, arrived KUMHWA 15 Jun 50, marched, arrived, CH’UNCH’ON date unk, PW became sick in CH’UNCH’ON, remained in the hospital for 30 days and the 2nd Regt went on to HONGCH’ON. PW followed the route of his unit on a supply truck and rejoined it in ANDONG. Heard that 2nd Regt lost 1,500 men between HONGCHON to ANDONG fighting with the ROK forces. Departed ANDONG with 2nd Regt (1,000 men), marched, arrived P’OHANG-DONG date unk. Departed P’OHANG-DONG with 2nd Regt (1,000 men), marched, arrived 2 km South of KIGYE, 18 Aug 50 and was captured by the ROK forces. Does not know what happened to the 2nd Regt.

Weapons and Personnel:
2nd Regt last had 1,000 men. Riflemen were armed with US M-1 rifles, M1899 rifles and carbines, 10 x submachine guns for plt ldrs and sqd ldrs. There were 8 x BAR’s in regiment.

Armor:
10 x T-34/85 tanks were last seen at CH’UNCH’ON.

Vehicles:
10 X 2½ ton trucks in Regt, but all were destroyed by aircraft. Trucks had been used to haul supplies. No supplies were received after HONGCH’ON (1080-1650).

Supplies:
Average one rice ball daily was received. No supplies were available after HONGCH’ON. Ammunition was low. Most of the food supplies received from farmers.

Enemy Intentions:
Objective was TAEGU.
