Evaluation:
Subject was fairly cooperative, information seems reliable. PW wounded in right thigh and in pain, which made it difficult for him to talk.

Military History:
Assigned to the 7th Div at WONSAN 30 Apr 50. Trained in WONSAN for 2 months with the 7th Div. The 1st and 2nd Regts of the 7th Div departed WONSAN 18 Jun 50 by rail to destination unknown to PW. The 3rd Regt departed WONSAN by rail 20 Jun 50, arrived CH’ORWON 21 Jun 50. PW’s regt consisted of three Bn’s and one Independent Bn. Regt 2250 men. Departed CH’ORWON 22 Jun 50. Met the 1st Regt of the 7th Div below the 38th parallel and marched to CH’UNCH’ON together. The 1st and 3rd Regt departed CH’UNCH’ON 29 Jun 50, passed HONGCH’ON, CHECH’ON and met the 2nd Regt at TANYANG. The 7th Div went on to YONGJU and met the 8th Div in ANDONG (Dates unk). PW. Saw only part of the 8th Div.
The 1st and 2nd Regts of the 7th Div departed ANDONG. PW heard that they were going to POHANG DONG. The 3rd Regt departed ANDONG after 2 days of rest, and proceeded toward P’OHANG DONG and met the 1st and 2nd Regts engaged the ROK forces. The 3rd Regt departed POHANG DONG the following day and for a mountain in the KUCHIDONG Area south of KIGYE. 17 Aug 50 ROK forces surrounded and fired on the mountain with mortar, artillery, machine guns and rifles for 30 minuets. PW states that the 3rd Regt’s Independence Bn came out of the mountain and surrendered. Many casualties in his unit.

Observed 3 Russian officers at WONSAN. 10,000 EM, NCOs and officers formerly with CCF in the 7th Div.

Weapons and Personnel:
7th Div - 10,300 men, Regt - 2,250 men, Bn - 450, Co - 150, Plt - 30, sqd - 10-12 (Only 10 men remained at time of capture in platoon. Rifleman armed with type 99 Japanese rifles, rifles from CCF. 12 x HMG’s in machine gun Co, 3 x LMG’s in plt. Originally 6 x 82mm mortars in mortar company but only 2 in company at the time of capture. 4 x 45mm anti-tank guns in regiment.

Armor:
12 x T-34/85 tanks in WONSAN. Observed 9 damaged by aircraft and artillery fire price to reaching TANYANG (Date unknown). Observed 2 before capture in vicinity of KUCHIDONG 17 Aug 50.

Artillery:
13 x 122mm Howitzers at WONSAN. 11 damaged by artillery and aircraft fire by 17 Aug 50. Location unknown.

Vehicles:
15 x trucks at WONSAN. 5 or 6 seen in vicinity of KUCHIDONG prior to capture. Heard 10 trucks were damaged by aircraft between ANDONG and TANYANG. Date unknown.

Supplies:
Mortar, artillery shells carried by men.

Enemy Intentions:
Objective T’AEGU and PUSAN.
