Departed UISONG 16 Aug 50 - foot - arrived 2 km S of UISONG 17 Aug 50 and engaged the ROK 19th Regt. PW’s machine gun nest was surrounded by the ROK troops so they gave up. 10 soldiers were captured.

Weapons and Personnel:
Div - 7,000 men, present about 1,000 men. Regt - 2,000 men, Bn, - 800, present about 600 men. 3 x Rifle Co’s, 1 x mortar Co 1 x 82mm, 1 x 42 mm gun plt, 2 x 42 mm guns, 1 x Eng plt shovels and axes. HMG Co - 83 men, present 23 men. 4 x plts in a Co, 4 x sqds in a plt, 12 MAXIM HMG 2,500 rounds per MG. At present only 2 x MG. 5 men to a MG, M1891/30 rifle, 150 rounds, 2 grenades. Officers - TOKAREV pistols, sqd ldr - PPsh M1943 submachine gun. All inf Riflemen carried M1891/30 rifle, 150 rounds. Sqd ldrs - PPsh M1941 or PPsh M1943 submachine guns. Ass’t sqd ldrs - DP LMG.

Armor:
Saw 5 x T-34/76 and 2 T-34/85 at UISONG 14 Aug 50. PW heard from tankers that formerly they had 40 x tanks but they were destroyed by aircraft.

Artillery:
Saw 6 x 76mm, 2 x 42mm guns at ANDONG o/a 13 Aug 50. However, PW did not see these guns after UISONG. He heard that these guns would come after the Eng’s repair the roads.

Vehicles:
T/O for Regt was 20 x YAG-4 however at present there was one truck to a regiment. Planes destroyed the others.

Supplies:
Ammunition did not come in from the rear after ANDONG, however, after passing UISONG he heard that ammunition will come in from TANYANG (He did not see the ammunition). Received food ones a day, at times once in two days. Food was usually gathered from the farm villages.

Enemy Intentions:
Mission was to take T’AEGU. PW heard that there was a radar set in his regiment, location and type were unknown.

Additional Information:
PW stated that on the left of his Div was the 12th Div and on his right the 7th Div. PW stated that the morale of the men was low because they were hungry. Moreover he stated that if the Americans shell them they will retreat.
