15th Regt CP located 4 km W of CHINDONG NI, 11 Aug 50.

15th Regt: Orig strength approx - 1,000 men. Present strength unknown.
1st Bn: Original strength approx 300 men. Present strength 200 men.
Battalion arms included: 30 LMG (150 rounds each), 200 Russ-mak rifles (50 rounds each), tommy guns carried by all squad leaders. Pistols carried by officers.

Marched from bank of IMJIN River, 5 Jul 50, via MOKP’O and KWANGJU, arrived CHINJU, 3 Aug 50. Marched from CHINJU, 5 Aug 50, and arrived CHINDONG-NI, 6 Aug 50.
Separated from unit during artillery firing and surrendered to US Marines, 11 Aug 50 near CHINDONG-NI.

Food and Ammunition Supplies:
Hearsay: Ammunition being transported by trucks from KAESONG to KWANGJU (route unknown). Ammunition dumps located in hills near KWANGJU. No incoming food supply. Raiding farms for food. Fuel supply secured from captured cities. No fuel being transported from the rear.

Replacements:
Wounded sent back to hospitals.
Hearsay: Hospital located in KWANGJU and CHINJU.

Enemy Intentions:
Soldiers told to fight to the last man and never surrender. Objective of 6th Div - PUSAN via MASAN (Route unknown).

Morale:
Morale of the unit was fairly high because unit was advancing rapidly.

Captured Equipment:
Captured arms were sorted and taken to the rear on trucks.

Approx 100 American PW’s seen in PW camp at HADONG, 25 Jul 50.
Approx 100 American PW’s seen in CHINJU on 5 Aug 50.

S Korean Sentiments:
S. Koreans were greeting the N. Korean Army with joy because they think that peace will come with the conquest of S Korea by N. Koreans.
