PW was vague about dates and place names. He repeatedly said he wasn’t sure of himself.

Military History:
Inducted 17 May 49 at WONSAN. Received 20 days of basic training. Rest of the time did general duties.

Departed SUWON - ? Jul - on foot - passed CHONANA CHOCHI’IWON, TAEJON, KUMCH’ON and arrived 6 km NNE of WAEGWAN on 14 Aug 50.
Awoke on the morning of 18 Aug and found his company was gone. While trying to locate his unit he ran into the ROK 13th Regt, and was captured 18 1000K Aug 50.

One HMG Co in Bn - approx 12 x HMGs.
14.5-mm PTRS Plt in Bn - details unknown.

Armor:
Saw 8 self-propelled guns (type unknown) 6 km NNE of WAEGWAN (place of capture). Believed they were out of action.

When PW last saw these guns in vicinity of capture, he believed there were only one or two of each.

Vehicles:
Saw 12 x GAZ-51 and YAG-4 trucks W of NAKTONG River, exact location unknown. No vehicles were seen after crossing the NAKTONG River.

Supplies:
After crossing the NKATONG River PW did not eat for 2 days. PW received only 16 mortar rounds on or about 15 Aug 50. No rounds after that. PW believes there was ammunition on the W bank of the NAKTONG River.

Enemy Intentions:
Mission to take T’AEGU.
PW stated that on the left of his unit was the 15th Div. PW heard fellow soldiers who saw leaflets state that if what they say is true, they will give up. (Rumors are that PW’s will be given food and clothing).
Officers and NCO’s said these leaflets are all lies.
