Seems to be very unobservant and mentally retarded.

Military History:
Inducted 6 Mar 50 at SINUIJU. Trained as rifleman at SUNUIJU Mar 50 to Jun 50. 23rd Regt departed SINUIJU 17 Jun 50, traveling by train to KUMCH’ON. Entered SEOUL 2 Jul 50. Entered INCHO’ON 3 Jul 50. Departed INCHO’ON 23 Jul 50, came south, passing through CHUNGJU and TAEJON. Crossed NAKTONG River 7 Aug 50.

T/O of PW’s Unit:
23rd Regt composed of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Bns. 3rd Bn composed of the 7th, 8th, and companies. Each company composed of 140 men armed with 12 LMG’s, 3 HMG’s 5 AT rifles and rifles. Each rifleman carried 100 rounds of ammo.

Estimated Strength of Above Units:
Each rifle company of 3rd Bn, 23rd Regt:
Original strength: approx 140 men; Present at night: approx 20 to 30 men. Casualties were suffered from artillery ire after crossing NAKTONG River - 7 Aug 50.

FOOD & AMMO SUPPLIES:
No food supply. Raiding farmers for food. Rifle ammo distributed (100 rounds per man) only once (Jul 50) before crossing 38th parallel.

Capability of Unit:
Morale: Morale of unit very low because majority of men were forced to join army, and fight. Heavy guarding prevented the men from deserting.
Replacements: No replacements have ever been received for 23rd Regt. Wounded taken to the rear after treatment by aidemen (five (5) aidemen per company).
Captured equipment: Troops used captured equipment against UN Forces. (Unknown) equipment was sent to the rear.

Civilian Attitude:
SK civilians are hostile toward the North Korean Army.

Enemy Intentions:
The objective of 13th Division: T’AEGU.
Elements of the 1st Div, 3rd Div and 4th Div are in support of the 13th Div, as independent units.
