Evaluation:
PW was cooperative and fairly intelligent. PW did not have any technical knowledge of artillery because he was an ammunition carrier. Information seemed fairly reliable.

Military History:
Inducted 30 Apr 50, at SANGSAMPONG (上三奉). Training Center. Received 3 months basic training (close order drill, fired 3 rounds with Jap rifle).
Transferred to the 7th Div Arty Regt, 2nd Bn, 4th Btry, 1st Plt, 2nd Sqd at WONSAN 28 May 50. Cleaned Japanese 67-mm Field Gun and ammunitions until 22 Jun 50.
The entire 7th Div departed WONSAN on 22 Jun 50, and reached INJE, on 24 Jun 50. The troops were told that the 7th Div was going on maneuvers at INJE. The 7th Div started to attack the S. Koreans at 0600 25 Jun 50. The 2nd Bn of the 7th Div, Arty Regt entered CH’UNCH’ON (春川) 28 Jun 50. The 2nd Bn moved to approx 8 km N of TANYANG (丹陽) in mid-Jul 50. The 2nd Bn fired for 3 days on ROK troops who were holding a position on a hill located on the 8 side of the HAN River.
After the N. Koreans captured TANYANG, the 2nd Bn moved to a point approx 2 km SE of PUNGGI (豐基) on or about 23 Jul 50. The 2nd Bn shelled the ROK troops who were defending a mountain located approx 4 km SE of PUNGGI. The ROK abandoned the position on or about 25 Jul 50.
All the guns (Jap 67-mm Field Guns) in the 2nd Bn were sent back to TANYANG on about 25 Jul 50, because there was no ammunition left. From PUNGGI the troops (approx 200 men) of the 2nd Bn carried the Jap rifles and followed the 7th Div Hqs (approx 100 men).
The 7th Div Hqs and the 2nd Bn of the Arty Regt reached T’OSONG-DONG 10 Aug 50 via ANDONG and CH’ONG-SONG (靑松). The 4th Btry (approx 50 men) of the 2nd Bn were ordered to proceed to ANDONG to get ammunition for the 5th Div, Arty Regt which was at P’OHANG-DONG. 50 men of the 4th Btry left T’OSONG-DONG on 7 trucks 13 Aug 50. When they came to T’OPTONG (approx 8 km N of KIGYE (杞溪) 1217-1464), they encountered the ROK 18th Regt. The 7 trucks turned back towards P’OSONG-DONG, but PW and his friend jumped from the truck because they were afraid of MG’s. PW and his friend were captured by ROK troops 16 Jul 50 at TOPTONG.
