Military History:
Inducted 4 Apr 50 at NAJIN (羅津). Trained as rifleman for 2 months.
Departed NAJIN - 3 Jun 50 - train - arrived - unknown town in KYONGGIDO Area, date unknown. PW remembered passing thru CH’UNCHO’ON (春川), SEOUL, INCH’ON (仁川), KUMCH’ON (金泉) and crossing the NAKTONG River 1 Aug 50.
18 Aug 50, at KUMHWA-DONG (1152-1464) the 9th Co of 3rd Bn was attacked by ROK artillery and small arms. During the engagement PW was shot in the head. He was taken prisoner after his company withdrew and ROK troops advanced. At time of capture PW had no weapon. PW had been carrying ammunition for an LMG but when he was shot I was taken from him by his fellow soldiers.

One DP LMG to a platoon, three in company.

10 Aug 50, PW observed in the mountains NW of KUMHWA-DONG (exact location unknown) one tank that was damaged, another in good condition. He observed these during the day camouflaged with branches.

Vehicles:
17 Aug 50, N of KUMHWA-DONG, PW observed 3 trucks loaded with ammunition, camouflaged with green leaves. PW went near the trucks and saw that they were loaded with LMGs and rifle ammunition.

Supplies:
Food received irregularly sometimes twice, sometimes once a day and sometimes none at all. Rice was mixed with wheat and gat. Food taken from villages.
