Tactical Movements:
5 Jul 50 - 5,000 replacements departed SINUIJU by rail
12 Jul 50 - 5,000 replacements arrived YONCH’ON via P’YONGYANG and WONSAN (元山). Railroad was intact.
14 Jul 50 - 2,500 replacements departed YONCH’ON (漣川) by rail.
15 Jul 50 - These replacements arrived WONJU (原州) via SEOUL by rail. 700 replacements assigned to the 11th Bn. Disposition of remainder (1,800) unknown. No other units, tanks, artillery observed.
20 Jul 50 - 11th Bn departed WONJU on foot.
6 Aug 50 - 11th Bn arrived CH’ONGSONG (1200-1500) via CHECH’ON, YONGJU, ANDONG. Observed 1,500 fully armed NKPA infantrymen at CH’ONGSONG. These NKPA troops were going in the direction of POHANG DONG (1230-1460). No artillery observed. Observed 5 x T-34/85 tanks moving south from CH’ONGSONG.
8 Aug 50 - 11th Bn departed CH’ONGSONG on foot.
13 Aug 50 - 11th Bn arrived somewhere E of KIGYE (1200-1460). No NKPA troops observed. Observed 5 x tanks (probably the same five observed at CH’ONGSONG) just off a 2 lanes, dirt highway (KIYE to POHANG DONG). Tanks were camouflaged with branches.
16 1300 Aug 11th Bn, with three rifle companies abreast, supported by a HMG company, attached an ROK mountain position. Attack was repulsed and 11th Bn sustained about 50% casualties.

Weapons and Personnel:
11th Bn - strength 800, 3 rifle companies and 1 HMG company - 170 officers and EM each. Weapons - personnel armed with various types of weapons: American M-1 rifle, American hvy mach gun (30 cal), American carbines, Jap type 38 rifles. No mortars observed. Limited supply of small arms ammo. No further information.
