ATIS INTERROGATION REPORT NO. 625　20 August 1950

FIELD REPORT (ADVATIS - 0453)　17 August 1950

PW hesitated in answering questions. PW is illiterate and unobservant.

Inducted 7 Mar 50 at SINUIJU. Received 3 months basic training at SINUIJU.

Departed SINUIJU 19 Jun 50 by rail - arrived NAMCH’ON 21 Jun 50. Departed NAMCH’ON (南川) 25 Jun - truck - arrived CH’ORWON 25 Jun 50. Departed CH’ORWON 27 Jun 50 - PW stated that this was the first time he travelled in this life and that he doesn’t know through what places he passed.

Arrived at TABU-DONG on 15 Aug 50 by foot. On the night of 15 Aug, 3rd Bn followed 2 tanks into a farm village. The Bn rested at the side of the road, PW soon fell asleep, when he woke up in the morning he was surrounded by the ROK troops of the 11 Regt.

Sq ldr - no weapon, 2 grenades. Asst sq ldr DP LMG, 300 rds, 1 grenade. Riflemen - M1891/30 rifles, 100 rds, 1 grenade each. Officer - Tokarev pistols.

2 Maxim HMG in a rifle company, rds unk. Crew - 6 men armed with M1891/30 rifles.
